I haven't been updating this site much, as i haven't had much time lately, and i'm thinking about going "blog" anyway.

So, the latest news is a new release coming on Knob Records on June '08, called Musica Um.
Three versions, Original, Pumpin & Deep.
You can probably tell by the titles which style they are, and listen to them on the player, you get a preview of each.

DESCRIPTION

"Original Mix" - Take a little slide ride to a happening spot in this world called Musica Um. Groovy to the max, the track holds golden synths, bass lines, and off key hi hats that work incredibly well. It's the whirly windy high synth that comes in ever so often to create this side path to the hot spot. Enchanting, hip and full of action.

"Pumpin Mix" - This mix takes on new form in this release, getting off to a real quick start. Hell bent stabs strike and get harder, darker and more distorted. Whispering haunted synths whistle in the background as a weird ringing chime alarm sound alerts the listener. The bending bass grinders are the grappling sound of the track leading to the breakdown that is plain out breathtaking. The mix ends off traveling back to that hard hell bent place.

"Deep-R Mix" - This Deep-R mix generates a newly discovered place, a wilderness with colors never seen before, synth sounds travel out with rays of oscillators appearing and fading together. The bass line is spatial, deep and keeps the travel ongoing. The listener will be accompanied by a synthetic frog which turns out to be a great travel companion. Deep Tech house never sounded so strange and cool.

I've also made a very, very cool remix for Dj Thee-o - Music Makes Me, also on Knob, that i'm real proud of, it's a real prog monster and will be out later this year UPDATE: July 22. LISTEN

I'm also hard at work on the studio and have a couple of tunes finished, including my first ever breaks track, which i enjoyed doing very much!

DESCRIPTION

"Minus Mix" - Steady pumping hi hats and sharp switching claps set this tune in 4th gear right from the start. The track suddenly drops then takes off with some of the most horrifying after-hours hall stabs. The percussion is filtered and crisp with dj friendly in's and out's. A peak track for a worthy crowd.

"Plus Mix" - Deep penetrating grooves that reach the soul in a catchy way. The synths are wide and wet leading into a natural breakdown that is quite captivating. The melody is vibrant and sweeps the flow upwards into the whole composition. A final buildup creates a second wind and the magic is everywhere.

I have finished a remix for Jason Michael's new Ascent track. It's allready available at Audiojelly and soon on Beatport. This is what AudioJelly say about it:

Hi, I'm the portuguese House Music Dj Groovy.

I play mainly progressive, tribal, techy, electro or deep house music, anything with strong quality.

I have a weekly 2-hours mix-set show on the radio here in Portugal for nearly 5 years now, but you can listen to it online too at www.radio100.pt every saturday from 22h-24h GMT (repeats from 03-06h).

I've been dj'ing in several clubs & parties as a freelancer for 8 years, and 3 years ago I started producing, and now I have 5 original tracks signed to 4 different labels, and also got my remix of X-Press 2 - Kill 100 very well positioned at number 41 over more than 1000 remixes and very good feedback, all of this hapened in 2006, so i expect great things for the future!

Good news! I have signed my best track so far, Big Night Out, to Hoshi Digital, the label of the producer and Dj Mastiksoul.
Allready featured releases from Tony Thomas and Alan Barrat. Mine is a real peak-time big room tune. I will post a preview and release date here soon.

Meanwhile, Barrido de Filtrado is doing well, it's on sale on most major online music stores. On Beatport, the Original and Alternative mixes are allready number 2 & 3 on the label's most sold tracks, out of 75!

So if you like them, you can download them further down in this page, and with better quality. A new set and chart will be posted very soon!
Booming Basline's release date is set: 22nd of August. Available first at Magnetic Grooves as an exclusive, and on other stores after some time. Supporting this track allready are: Matthew Hiscock, Slacker, Dj Cass, Dan Magan, Dj Bart, Hector Romero, Jan Langer, and it's currently n.1 on Dj Rollo's top 10.
I am working on a dub mix of Leave Me a Message, more percussive and dancefloor-friendly to join the more clubby original. Support is coming from the likes of David Christopher, Pete Gooding, Jan Langer, Dj Samer, Steve Active, Leigh Morgan , Jevne Miller and Saeed Younan.
I have also finished my third original track, called Barrido de Filtrado. This 'bomb' is a tech-house old-school tinged groovy prog chuggy dancefloor monster! Allready signed up (i just can´t tell you with whom yet, few details missing), and boasting two mixes. This has allready been doing the rounds on dancefloors around the globe and geting awesome reactions! Being played by the likes of Luca Ricci, Moshic, Todd Dutkevitch, Mike Mucci and Jamez! More details soon.
On the remix front, i've finished my version of Starecase - Vapour Trails. It's a very sexy remix, that takes some elements from the original, adds a few of my own and takes it to a completely new direction. One for the ladies!
My remix of X-Press 2 - Kill 100 is also finished. I think it turned out great, has the original feel with myy personal touch and a huge breakdown wich i think will go on greatly. More remixes are on the works or planned to the future, so more news about it soon.

I have been very active in the studio lately, so I have just finished a new track, called Leave Me a Message. It's a tribal track with some twists, based around an answering machine voice sample. I have sent it to some labels and I'm begining to get very good reactions to it so I believe there will be a release some time in the future.
I can also say that I am allready working on another one, and this time it's a remix. Everything else is still secret!

I can finally announce it: the track I produced, called Booming Bassline is due to be released by Inner Rhythm, a new digital label from Symphonic Records. It´s a dark progressive track. Symphonic is a collective of 5 DJ's from different countries, including Dj Rollo and Desyn Masiello, the talented owner of Alternative Route and Sex on Wax.
